Episode 98 - Maybe He Really Does Love You
I like how Mr. Balla throws in the subtle stories that expose SAtan Lee as a fake. He does it with such ease I believe it because he has nothing to gain from telling a lie, and Stan Lee claims all these great titles "Father of Comics" and whatever, glad to see a voice for the truth.
Stan Lee is the father of Marvel comics, not comics and genereal. And whatever this dude says is not going to change people's attituded towards Stan because he has amassed the respect and recognition he has over the years. If the other old creators want to be recognized, they should come out and meet the fans and get involved like Stan has over the last 30 years.
Meet the fans? pssst, yeah reight, you mean how he only signs headshots of himself? Because thats all he does at cons anymore, at San Diego you had to buy a ticket to take that to a stand to get a photo of Stan the day before his signing and all he would sign was that photo. Sorry dude but no. I love the work he's done too but you gotta remember the man wants to get paid like everyone else.
Bill, He didn't really come out and said Stan is a bastard or anything, so one could take it as they will. I met Stan lee 10 years ago at a covention in Fla. and he was an ass, looked like my grandpa, but he was an ass. Wouldn't sign anything unless, I bought a ticket. Funny that Chris brought that up, that he is still doing that. I am not a fan of Stan lee, because of that incident, but I appreciate what he did for comics. Even though after hearing the podcast, I was reminded of the spider-man story.
Yeah I heard about the ticket thing. Don't get me wrong I know what the man did form comics but I also like when someone is willing to break down the curtain and expose the whole story, it shows balls because of course people aren't going to like what they hear.
