It's interesting to see how the some of the silhouettes have changed in shape from the solicitation pictures and even the color of the bow has changed, but the again that was revealed in issue 1. I really didn't expect to see one character in particular hanging out with all those jive turkeys!

I actually managed to get this variant cover for issue #1, so I knew who they were planning on using.
Except of course, it still doesn't say who the last "surprise" member will be. Does anyone else think that sounds strangely familiar to New Avengers and Ronin?

Did you just compare JLA to New Avengers? I think in just two issues they almost have the team assembled and it took Bendis 3 years to get the whole team in one comic, I think. That has happened right? fuck.
Well, I was more looking at the similarity. Because we haven't actually SEEN the whole JLA team in one book yet, have we? And for them to say "oh yeah, we'll be adding another member to the team after the first arc" kind of smacks of Bendis-itis, wouldn't you agree? Even if they aren't going to do that, it's not a great way to start off the run. I'd be afraid I'd be leaving a bad taste in readers' mouths starting off like that.
