I have been listening to the podcast since episode 14 and I know that Chris is an element of the underivative cast. However, this is the third time in a row that he hasn not read some of the comics. How can he not read Countdown? Come on fellow, this is a clamorous part of the DC universe. How can you guys do a sit down panel of reviewns when one of your reviewers didn't read a book? I am habituated to the fact that Melanie does not participate unless it's a considerable event book, but I took Chris to be a prodigious comic reader.

I have enjoyed the podcast and I still listen to it, but that is my distinct denouncement. The audio levels are better than before and it still funny to hear you guys converse. When are Spider-Ben and The fastest Nick alive making effulgent return? Stay Geeky everyone.

So when does the redesign of the website happen?

Wiley,

I understand how frustrating it must be when not all the reviewers are able to weigh in on a given comic because for whatever reason, they may not have read the current issue.

But, I would point out...

1.Chances are, there might be circumstances where any of the reviewers might not be able to read a certain issue yet. 2. Usually, they go by what came out in the week they do the podcast, but they might not all have read the same new issues. 3. They all do tend to read the big arc stories, if nothing else, but each have their favorite books they focus on, too. THOSE might not all be the same. 4. Sometimes, not everybody is able to make it to a podcast, whether they read the book or not.

After all, it's not like they're movie critics, who are paid to watch a given movie and write their opinion on it. The About Heroes crew do this because of their love of comics, and wanting to share that and other geek related phenomena with us, the listeners.

Sure, I wish I could hear everybody's opinion on everything that is discussed in a given podcast, but sometimes that's not possible. It's okay, because I always enjoy the podcasts as a whole.

Considering each reviewer's vast repertoire of comics knowledge, I've often heard them make very perceptive comments relating to books they haven't read yet, to tell the truth.

Indeed, Stay Geeky!

Wiley,

Wow, I don't think I've ever been called out before, AWESOME! Hey man I appreciate all criticism and when you want to read "The Monk" and Gertrude Stein, and Sierra, and Poe in two days for me, I'll be happy to go back and read aaaall of Countdown, just a little overloaded at the moment, I'll straighten my act out ;)

Jeff,

Before October.

Kelli,

Yes he did, I was bitching about too much school, I just got schooled again in like two more ways, lol.

Wiley: They've invited me a couple of times but, I never can get with them when they do it. Working about 65 to 70 hrs a week now, so... my schedule is...odd, lol. Hopefully I'll be able to join them for a cast soon.

Jeff: No clue. You got pull though...threaten no more interviews, lol.

Jeff Hartz said:

Well, too late for that. There's some more already in the planning stages, but I save that for Dan and Omar to make the big announcements. My job is just to get the interviews and modestly shy away from any praise for it.

Okay, that last part was bullshit. But I still do what I can for the good of the show as my main motivation. The podcasts rock, and I want to be able to do something to make 'em rock more.

And Wiley, believe me when I say you can't necessarily blame the gang for not being able to read all of them like you would want. But keep these questions in mind: Is this their actual job or a hobby based on love of the industry? As it's not a job, they don't get paid to read comics. Nor do they get the comics for free. They have to go out and buy the comics out of their own pocket money just like everybody else.

Believe me, if there was a job where I would get my comics for free, AND be paid to read them, I would have found it by now. I would love to be able to sit down and buy every title that comes out every week and tell you which ones are hot, hot hot and which ones are a dog turn wrapped in month-old baloney slices. But I can't.

And neither can the guys. Which is why you never hear any of them say "I didn't read this issue, but let me tell you about it anyway". My suggestion is don't wait for them to talk or not talk about a comic you like or hate. The comics come out on Wednesdays. The podcast is usually recorded on Sundays. Between the two, send an email for the guys to read saying "hey I read this title today and this is why I thought it was good:".

I guess what I'm trying to say is this: if you don't like some of the content of the show, do something to make it what you want it to be.Add some content. Be one with the show, young Padewan Wiley.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry I haven't done a podcast in awhile, I have a lot of personal stuff going on right now keeping me away from joining the podcast. My grandfather is suffering from colon cancer so there have been lots of doctor's visits and even surgery taking place. Also, I'm taking 15 hours at college right now and also have something else going on that is keeping me from haning with my buddies as much as I would like to. I am however getting my comics each week and still keeping up with what's going on.

So I'll try to do a podcast sometime soon. Thanks for asking about me. Take care all.

This is the first comic book podcast I've listened to and actually enjoyed. I particually loved the Action Philosophers mention. As a philosophy major and a comic book geek, I instantally fell in love. I'm sad to see it's already ending.
