Open discussion for comics from October 31
It's new comics day! What are you planning to read, and what did you think about those books?
Here's the list of new books for October 31 from the Diamond website. Also, note that the Batman and Son set from DC Direct comes out today - if any of you pick those figures up, let us know what you think.
And finally, I've turned off registration for comments, since it seemed to pretty much dry up what had previously been a huge flow of comments on entries. You no longer have to log in or register to post your opinion.
The Batman looks pretty cool, good for a Kubert fan to have even if he is a little too poutty lipped. The Joker isn't bad either. But man the Robin/Damien two pack sure does suck. It looks like Robin was pieces of other Robins before, and Damien looks like he came frome Playskool.
X-Men: Messiah Complex rocked my cock off! First time I've enjoyed a X-book in years!
Messiah Complex was pretty solid. I wish they had given the pencil duties of all 12 parts to Silvestri. Just when I lost interest in Marvel something brings me back. I am actually excited about this crossover just like Omar said in the last podcast.
I got the Ninja Manbat figure. He looks weird in the package but is better when you take him out. I'm really dissapointed that he can't rotate his hands. I can live without the elbow joints, but the hands, they could've easily done. Right now the only thing that moves on his arms are the ball shoulders.
I'm a bit dissapointed in Batman 670, the art was great, but what happened to the heavy dialogue Morrison I love? Did he go away and be replaced by Michael Bendis? Wait, it's really not that bad.
I think I'm going to go ahead and follow Messiah Complex. It will actually be the first current, main stream X-Men story I've read. I haven't yet picked up this week's books, though, so I have no opinion for now.
Messiah CompleX was good, not great, but good. Wish I would have read New X-Men before hand.
I liked the DD annual as well, I wish they would bring the art team from that onto the normal book.
