What are you planning to buy, or what did you enjoy this week? Here's the list of comics shipping from Diamond; honestly, there are a lot of books coming out this week, but not a lot that stand out for me. What do you think?

Marvel.com says New Avengers Vol. 6 is coming out next week. Anyone know if that's a mistake or is it shipping early?

Besides that all I'm really intrested in this week is the Omega Flight trade and Uncanny X-Men. Alot of books next, week though

Chris said:

I make it a point never to trust marvel.com because for years they have really sucked at updating their site when shipping stuff changes, trust diamond and dcbservices and that about it bro.

I'm jazzed about Buffy!

Where is WW Hulk 5?

Eric said:

I can't wait to read Robin this weekend. Stupid comic store made the mistake of not ordering enough and I have to wait to read my copy. I'm also anticipating Buffy. I have been loving that series. Astonishing 23, heck yeah.

Dennis the F said:

Yeah, forgot about Astonishing. Easy to do since it seemingly never comes out. Also Illuminati #5 will either enrage me or make me happy. Waiting to see...

Dennis the F said:

Wow...just wow. I see some things never change.

Hero 004 Author Profile Page said:

Thanks for the tip, Chris.

Dennis the F- Are you the same Dennis from podcast episode 2?

Dennis the F said:

Hero004,

Lol, yeah. That was the good old days before Chris had a temper tantrum and started editing everything I said off the site. Gosh, like a couple of hours ago.

But I have known Omar for ever and the crew is a great bunch of people, well, except for Chris...

Chris said:

Hero004,

As I know you from outside of this website I hope you wont listen to closely to what Dennis says. The truth is Dennis had a tempertantrum when I took rude things he said about me and others off the site, and will continue to do so whenever he does it, which he tried to do for this discussion, but now he has apologized to Omar and is back on the site, I apologize for him ahead of time. (All uncivilized retorts here on out will be edited, and we at About Heroes only edit things we find offensive, thanks, and stay geeky).

Dennis the F said:

For the record I didnt apologize to Omar, I had nothing to apologize for.

To be fair I don't think we have ever edited people's comments with the exception of Chris deleting spam or some of Dennis' posts. I HATE HATE when I go to a forum and someone's comment is deleted or edited because of something they said. We have never done that here and I still want to keep it that way.

I really don't give a fuck what anyone's comment states. For example a few months back there was a poster that called me a dumbass and question my reading comprehension for my review on Illuminati #2 or when Brent took a poll to see if Omar was a pussy for crying when watching movies (ahhh memories, that was a good one Brent). We've all been insulted in one way or the other and when you have websites like this you kind of expected. Chris and Dennis have never gotten along and when we first started the forums you could easily tell. However, if people want to personally insult each other all the time, I think there are better places to do that than a comic discussion topic. Email each other or give each other a ring, because no one else wants to read it.....unless it's funny. :)

Now let's get back to comics. I can't wait to read Astonishing X-men 23 either. I'm going to miss that book so damn much. I read Illuminati 5 and Dennis I'm with you; there was only one way that book could have ended to make up the bullshit that was books 1-4 for me. Let's just say if the whole Illuminati were Skrulls that would have been perfect. Buffy was great again and can't wait to see where else Joss and Brian take us.

So to sum stuff up, once again I really don't give a fuck what you write. If you want to take a shot at me that's fine I'll leave it up. Just expect some retaliation. It's good that after all these years comics are still enjoyable and I can't believe we are still doing a podcast and not burned out.

Dennis the F said:

Well said Omar. It's just disappointing that some people can dish it but can't take it.

Dennis the F said:

Last comment on this then I'm done. I realy like how Chris can edit me out, but his "insulting" comments stay right up. Hypocrite. Go ahead and edit away but we know the truth don't we?

Brent said:

Um.... after reading all that...

WWH comes out next week! And I started bi-weekly shipping from DCBS so no reviews every Wednesday anymore. :(

Dajoka said:

Omar you are a fucking pussy!! HAHAHA you had it coming when you said take a shot. Fuck you guys at aboutheroes! Will that stay up?

Just to be clear, I fucking love you guys and fuck anyone else that says otherwise. Robin was great by the way Eric, Milligan told a good superhero story. Anyone know who ended up dying at the end of the Omega Flight book? I love the art by Kollins but the writing by Oeming was horrible.

Nick Author Profile Page said:

The DC reviews will be MINE!! MU HA HA HA.

Still, a bummer about the bi-weekly though.

Chris said:

I actually liked Kollins on Omega flight, and I usually like Oming but I tend to agree poor canadians. Thanks Dajoka and Jim T., I don't know why I feel the need to defend myself, when fans do it for me.

Dennis the F said:

Snicker. Delusional much. (Sorry I couldn't resist.)

Book of the week so far for me Howard the Duck!

Hero 004 Author Profile Page said:

Honestly, Chris wouldn't have had to do anything had you not called him something in the first place for no reason. I remember all that crap from when the forums first started too. We don't want to here it, especially about Chris, take it somewhere else.

I tried to pick up on Astonishing by reading 12 and 13, but I was lost. Wheadon is deep, so I needed to have read the previous arcs. When it's all done with I'll probably read the entirety of it, though.

Dan Author Profile Page said:

Jesus Christ, Dennis. Enough already. it'd be one thing if you wrote anything constructive, but you jump into this thread just to insult people. Come off it already.

Keith said:

All around good week for comics this week (For me anyway).

Freddy vs Jason vs Ash.

I was pleasantly surprised. I expected a cheap poorly written cross over. I was wrong. I actually liked it. It was an all around good read.

New Avengers Illuminati #5

Loved it.

Fantastic Four.

One of the better issues I have read (Been reading sense 524.) But that isn't saying much.

Astonishing X-Men

Another good read. Only took Joss 17 issues for me to like an issue again.

And Uncanny X-Men.

Not the best book. But I wasn't thrilled with the last arc so this was a fresh change.

The Reaper.

Officially Sent Out.

Chris said:

Hey congrats Keith and good luck!

Nick Author Profile Page said:

Dennis, man, let it go.

Seriously.

The whole thing has gone beyond funny and is just sad now.

Let it go.

That's all I am gonna say on the matter

Dan Author Profile Page said:

Holy frijoles, Omar, you're right. Astonishing 23 was awesome. About time Cyclops got some editorial/writing love.

Spider-Ben said:

Great week for comic books. Here are a few that I liked:

Uncanny #492: Omar's review was spot on for this issue. I loved seeing Cyclops just go off on Xaiver, it's about time. I didnt' mind Billy Tan's artwork, but I kinda wish Salvador Larocca was the ongoing artist on the book.

Robin: I'll have to buy all the Bat-books for the next month or so to get all of the Ra's Al Ghul return arc. This issue of Robin wasn't bad, but Tim didn't kind of jump the gun when Damian was helping Alfred from falling down. I think this arc has potential, I love Ra's as a villain and Talia is hot! So I'm excited to see how this story plays out.

Fantastic Four: The best issue by Mcduffie thus far. Reed seemingly really fucks up the world and a future T'Challa, Doom, and Namor come to tell Reed to back off now. In fact, I think I'd like to review this issue if no one else is going to. I haven't reviewed a FF book in some time. Great cliffhanger to the book as well.

Astonishing X-men: Hells yeah, Whedon is the man! The ending with Scott saying "To me my X-Men" was just the bomb! This book may ship late, but it doesn't disappoint.

New Avengers Illuminati: Awesome, simply awesome. I'm eager to hear what Omar thinks about this ish but I loved it, it's my fave issue of the mini-series. The skrull in the illuminati was a surprise to me, I really thought it was one of the other members of the team so the revealtion was even more surprising and sweet. I'm pumped for Secret Invasion!

Lots more comic goodness shipped but that's all for now.

There is Spider-ben. Been a while since I read any review besides the Ultimate reviews. I haven't read Marvel in a while, but Astonishing always bring me back. Having Omar, Dan, Chris, Dennis, and Ben back in here is almost like episodes 2 and 3 all over again of the podcast. Thanks for the entertainment.
