Episode 90 - You Should Sell Your Comic at Starbucks

| | Comments (5)

Shannon Wheeler, creator of Too Much Coffee Man and the new book Screw Heaven, When I Die I'm Going To Mars, joins us for an interview. We also talk about Captain America 34, Batman 673, Emperor Vulcan 5, Green Lantern 27, Ultimate X-Men 90, and Mighty Avengers 8, as well as what we think Batman's death would mean to the DC Universe.

Also, this week (and from here on out), we've got actual show notes! Click on the "Continue Reading" link for links, images, and a few videos.

Here are two samplings of the Too Much Coffee Man Opera from YouTube. The first is an animated version of an aria from the show; the second is an actual taped clip.

How's that for show notes?

haha, I love it when Chris says "Stay Geeky" and Omar always goes "You can't say that" :D
Great interview, sad to say I've never read anything from Shannon Wheeler, he sounds like a nice dude. I think episodes 99 and 100 should have a live chat room going on, that way we fans can ask questions and such or something. VideoCasts? um, how about You guys find some kinda Con to go to and record an episode there? I don't know. More interviews perhaps? um, well keep up the good work guys, I'll see about writing a iTunes review and work on something for your 100th episode.

Shannon sounds like a great guy and I will be checking out his current books. I really didn't think the guy was up to anything new. I was an addict of toomuchcofeeman back in the late 90s and I thought he retired the character. That opera looks great.

Now everytime I go into Starbucks I am going to think of ways I can put Shannon's comic somewhere. I think I too will be wearing my TMCM t-shirt into Starbucks. Great interview guys and I can't wait to see that opera.

That was a great interview and good to hear you guys snuck in some reviews. I think the DC illuminati is rather lame compared to the Marvel version.

Hey guys, please don't change. By this I mean don't give in to censorship. The thing I like about your show is you talk just like the people at my comic shop, not like the other show I've written about before. Let the churchies start their own censored podcasts. The kids and parents of today have bigger things to worry about than creative uses of the English language, or the occassional masturbation reference. Any parent who took their kid to X3 or rented it introduced them to "I'm Juggernaut, bitch" and "Dickhead" anyway. (Somehow Claremont achieved success without lines like this.) As far as Buffy fans go, I don't remember many vampires or lesbians in the Bible. Enough of my rant, just don't change.

Well, since I requested it, here's an idea for a "favorites" list for your panel. How about everybody lists 3 Marvel characters who might be Skrulls, or would be interesting Skrull-material, or maybe who wouldn't work as Skrulls. Just an idea, keep it real.
