Episode 95 - I Think They're Going Back to Mongul

| | Comments (11)

I'm back, with Omar, Chris and Melanie - it's like a Beatles reunion. We play some voicemail, and read a few e-mails, which launches us into some recommendations for classical heroics in comics (we suggest Gravity, Y The Last Man, Kingdom Come, Green Lantern Rebirth, the Dark Phoenix Saga, Batman Year One and Year Two, and Sailor Moon), a further discussion of digital comic downloads, some Transformers talk, and we ring the bell on Ray vs. Jeff, Round 2.

Then we move onto comics discussion, starting with The Last Defenders 1 and hitting on Logan 1, Wolverine 63, Serenity - Better Days 1, Green Lantern Corps 22, X-Factor 29, Walking Dead 47, Booster Gold 7, BPRD 1946 3, Abe Sapien 2, Secret Invasion Saga and Doctor Who 1.

Episode 95 - I Think They're Going Back to Mongul

A quick note on the audio issues I've been having - it looks like I've tracked down the kernel panic problem, and the problem that caused the audio for this episode to be a bit muffled, to the software that came with our microphone, which is apparently REALLY not compatible with Mac OS 10.5. I've cleared it out of the system entirely, so this should be the last of the issues we see. Thanks for sticking it out.

never mind, just read the note ^__^"""

I'm getting the muffled sound too.

God, I haven't posted a review in forever. Fucking school! And DCBS' bi-weekly shipping doesn't help when I get my books on Monday and by Wed my review would be out of date... I'll try to start picking stuff back up in the summer.

Yup, audio is a little muffled. You should have heard it before the two days of work I did on it.

I'm horribly embarrassed about the audio being sub-par, though. It's just one more aggravation. It'll be better next time, if I have to record on a different machine to make it so.

Dan could have saved a lot of face by renaming the podcast "SPECIAL UNDERWATER/AQUAMAN EDITION"

It sounds like we're in an upsidedown tub at the bottom of the ocean.

You get used to it after a while.

I still listened to the whole thing and I did have to listen twice a couple of times. Brent Knmightwing, that's what happened to the reviews. Makes sense. Take care everyone.

Muffled sound here too. I had to turn the sound to quite loud to make anything out.

Dan - while you were out, I thought I heard Omar mention that they were recording on a Windows machine that week. While switching from Mac to Windows permenantly would probably just invite a whole new world of problems, I would suggest using both machines. I know if I was recording a weekly, hour-long show, the worst thing I can imagine is having to do it all over again due to technical problems. If you recorded on both machines at the same time, you would have a backup in case one crashed.

Just an idea. I am sure this is more complicated than I understand.

The podcasts are always great. Thanks, and keep it up!
